Jump, Jump and Jump!

Boo~

Just last week, I got invited to join a little online project together with a few really nice friends, I am so excited and have been kind of busy with that, haha... That's why didn't really come to my own blog. XD I hope this project will be a success and I am sure to tell everyone about it when we launch it, stay tune!

EdeNz and I went to watch Jumper last Saturday, I have been wanting to watch this movie ever since I saw the trailer few months back, hehe... Love the visual effects in the trailer, it's really good. So before the movie is taken down from the screen, we got ourselves 2 tickets. =)

The poster itself is already so cool. =p

As the trailer has shown pretty much what the guy can do, jumps around, no matter how far it is! That's really cool, you can visit anywhere anytime you want, haha... Apparently, there are several people that have this special ability and they are named "Jumpers" and a group of people who named themselves "Paladins" who basically hunt down jumpers and kill them off, thinking that only God has the power to be anywhere anytime. XD

The movie is really nice, I love those visual effects and the storyline is good as well, it's not just any normal stories, there's some twists so it's nice and the good thing I like is the story is quite fast, not draggy but not too fast as well, just nice for sufficient story development. =) I would definitely recommend everyone to catch this movie, 8/10 hehe! XD

CNY: Back to KL...

Interesting News: On Valentine's Day, someone actually spent RM40,000 for a billboard advertisement to propose to his grilfriend. Wow! Romantic? Creative? Show off? Click to see the news article.

Boo~

These few days I have been so busy with stuff around that I have forgotten to update the last part of my CNY entry haha... This morning, I just went CNY visit again, this time with my colleagues. XD It's gonna be over soon, so better go visit all friends and relatives around to collect as much ang paus as possible! =p

So where did I stop? Hmm... The next morning I came back to KL with my uncle and cousins, they will be taking bus back to Penang from the KL bus station. We left Singapore around 7 and there's actually quite a number of people at the checkpoint already... Had breakfast after that and around noon, home sweet home! Hehe... I have been away for just 3 days but it feels so good to actually step inside my house again, felt relax and happy. Hehehe... Then we went for lunch at Tai Tung restaurant near my house, at Cheras Plaza... I didn't expect to see such a huge crowd there, seems like there's many people that stays in KL even during CNY time.

The table.

My mom and me ordered a few simple dishes and my brother took a few dim sums. The dim sum there is actually quite good but it's a bit pricey... Then after waiting for quite some time, they finally serve us our dishes, so hungry that time lol...

3 type of meat.

First dish is a mixture of roast chicken and roast pork, I don't really like roast pork so I didn;t try it but the roast chicken was ok, just normal... But the chilli sauce is very sweet, doesn't suit the taste of the roast chicken at all and it's not spicy as well. =(

Giant to fu. =p

Then we have a to fu dish, which is recommended by the waitress, it's really big piece of to fu and it's smooth. I think it is made with egg, quite nice, I love it together with the sauce. Yummy. XD Each person had one big piece as there are 8 of us in total...

Yam bowl with chicken!

Next up is a quite special dish which I don't really know what they call it in English, but it's a bowl filled with chicken inside. The bowl is made of fried yam, nice fragrance and crispy and the chicken is fried with dried chilli and cashew nuts, "kong po" style hehe... Love this dish as the chicken is really sweet, juicy and smooth... So nice that I actually ate a lot haha... =p The yam is good as well, my dad say this dish is one of the best among the chinese restaurants around town. So if you have the chance, go ahead and try it and you will love it. XD

Then we also ordered vegetables, balance diet is very important =p and of course white rice, haha... No pictures because nothing special but the vegetable is really sweet, love this kind of vege. XD Everyone felt so full after finishing everything, in fact we had to take some time to actually clear every single dish, lol... I felt satisfied and happy, what's more important than feeding your lovely stomach good food? =p

CNY Days in Singapore

Note: Anime List updated.

Boo~

On the first day of CNY, I woke up pretty late... around noon, hehe... I was too tired from everything on the previous night I guess. =p Well, due to limited car space, my cousins and I were asked to stay at home while the adults visit a relative which live in Singapore as well, not really close so I don't really bother... Might as well take this chance and get more sleep!

My dad came back and gave us 4 Ang Paus though, hahaha... In SGD. XD After everyone came back, we had lunch together at home and for the rest of the day, my cousins, my mom and I were watching the TV series, cotninue from last night. XD We don't really have much relatives in Singapore so that's why... Most of them are living nearby and all, collecting Ang Paus only take a few minutes without much visiting as everyone comes to visit my grandpa...

Around 10 something at night, we got too bored and feel like walking a bit, so we went down to the nearby McDonalds to have ice cream. =p Something really hilarious happened when we are ordering our McFlurry... As usual, we walked up to the counter and placed our order and wait for the staff to make the ice cream, then as we were chatting, we heard a sound of a container falling... The staff actually poured all the oreos out by somehow removing it's container from the tray on the ice cream machine, don't ask me how he did it. We were like =____= but that's not the funniest part yet... Then the staff quickly ran to the back to get cloth or something to clean up and called the store manager. At that time I noticed that the switch on the ice cream machine is turned on without having any cup below it... So the ice cream keep flowing out, turning and turning... While both the staff and the manager is trying to clean up the oreos on the floo and the table, we all keep giggling after seeing that, ahahhaha... After some time, the manager finally realized that a lot of ice cream has been wasted...

It looks like this when the manager finally turn off the switch.

It was so funny that we tried our best not to laugh but still wanna laugh, lol... Anyway, I bet the staff is very nervous and all he ended up giving us our Oreo before even stirring it. =/ Bad day for the staff but it made our day as we really cannot resist laughing and talking about it after that. XD

After the funny ice cream session, everyone went back and sleep. ^_^ It's quite tiring even though we didn't do much, well watching TV for long hours actually strains my eyes a lot... I woke up around the same time on the second day as well, this time we all are going out to a nearby restaurant for lunch.

We reached the restaurant around noon which is quite early but the restaurant is already packed with people, luckily my aunt went there first and got us a place... The restaurant is quite small, by the road side and without aircond, lucky it isn't too hot that day. We all sat at a very long tables as the restaurant doesn't have round tables, to save spaces I think. =p

The menu.

My aunt ordered a few simple Chinese dishes and drinks, since there are so many people eating and waiting, I bet it's gonna be good. XD

Half chicken here.

The first dish we have is steam chicken, which is one of their famous dishes I think... It's nice, the meat is soft and sweet and juicy as well, eat together with their chili sauce, really nice... Oh, their chili sauce is really hot that I was surprised, normally chili sauce from chicken rice is not spicy at all and I always put a lot.

Tofu, looks delicious?

Then they served the to fu, as you can see it's covered with lots of sauce which has lots of eggs in it, really nice smell... The to fu they used is Japanese to fu so it's smooth, this dish is just normal for me but I like the sauce... XD

Pork ribs, my favorite...

Then here comes another specialty, pork ribs with a very special sauce. It's served in long pieces with mini fried buns, nice decoration hehe... I love this dish although I seldom like to eat pork ribs, the sauce that covered the ribs is really really nice, it has a very strong taste but not too salty, just nice and it's best when ate with rice... The small buns are fluffy inside and very crispy outside with a slight fragrance. =p I enjoyed this dish the most for this meal.

Kangkung, very spicy!

We had vegetables as well, kangkung with belacan. It's very spicy as commented by everyone, it sure has lots of chili padi inside lol... The taste is good to me, not too satly and the vege is fresh as it had sweetness in it and it's crunchy.

Pyramid rice.

The rice is is kinda special, normally rice are served either in a bowl shape or just a plate of scattered rice but this shop has pyramid-shaped rice! Hehe... special right? I wonder what kind of mold they use to do that... =p

Nice soup.

Lastly, my aunt ordered a soup as well, something like sharks fin but not excatly sharks fin, some seafood soup as well. It's nice although I don't know what is inside, I know there's egg and scallop, can see haha... This soup taste way nicer than the sharks fin soup we had for reunion dinner.

Everyone enjoyed the lunch, satisfied as well with only half the price of the reunion dinner, this really proved how bad is the previous restaurant. Too bad that this restaurant closes during CNY eve, if not we would probably come here for a good reunion dinner. =)

After lunch, we went to Cold Storage to get some ice cream and chocolates as snacks then went back home to finish up the TV series... We managed to finish it by night, after dinner, haha... 20 episodes all together, quite nice. XD After that, hand around for a while, drank some tea and finally go to sleep... Waking up early again to go back KL, can't wait... Staying in Singapore is really killing me, lol.

Continue with Back to KL trip tomorrow, wanna sleep now. =p

My Reunion Dinner

Boo~

I woke up around 4 am that day, left my house with my family for Singapore at 5 then reached the border check point around 9.30 am... After having breakfast and all, finally reached my relative's house around 11am, so sleepy...

Played cards until lunch, not gambling though... XD After lunch, it was pretty boring because there's nothing to do so my cousins and I watched TV until evening... We went to the restaurant around 5.30pm for reunion dinner, so early! The dinner is booked from 5pm to 7pm actually... =_="

Our table, so red.

Anyway, there are actually quite a lot people there already, so we sat down, chit chat a while and wait for the waitress to serve us. The restaurant is not those high class places, just a community hall with tables and chairs and some chinese new year decorations around...

Yee Sang, so messy lol...

The first dish is of course the Yee Sang, a traditional dish that everyone will have before actually having the reunion dinner. It's a simply ceremony to wish for good luck and stuff... The Yee Sang is pretty big and we all had fun stirring it lol. XD It is not very nice though, too much vegetables, too little sauce and peanuts, we didn't finish everything...

The dishes.

More dishes.

Then the normal sharks fun soup came, the waitress put them into small bowls for us. No sharks fins seen in the soup, very watery when I drink it... No taste at all, not salty, no nice smell, nothing... *shakes head* Didn't really want to finish it but forced to... =(

Next is the fish, quite good looking but it doesn't taste good as well... I bet the fish has been frozen for quite a long time because the sweetness isn't there anymore, lucky the sauce is not too bad, still consider ok if eaten with sauce. I had better fishes with a much cheaper price in KL...

Prawns are up next, fried prawns with cereal, quite special, my first time seeing it... I don't really like prawns and I don't like cereal at all so I skipped this dish, others said it was ok so I guess this isn't too bad, everyone managed to finish up all the prawns as well.

After that, the pork leg is here, this dish is the best of all I think, I ate quite a bit since I haven't been eating much for the first few dishes... The veges beside the pork meat is good as well, we all finished this quite fast...

At the same time, they brought us sea cucumber with abalone and mushroom and vegetables which I think it's just so-so, nothing special about this dish and the taste is quite plain as well... The vegetables are quite crunchy though.

The last dish before dessert was steam rice in lotus leaf, the look is really nice and there's a slight fragrance when we open up the leaf... Too bad that the rice is almost tasteless, I think the chef forgotten to add salt or soy sauce... =___=

Dessert which suppose to be the easiest to prepare also disappointed me, the honey dew sago doesn't have any sense of sweetness at all, is sugar very expensive now? *sigh* All I can taste is the santan and it isn't cold at all... Didn't finish the dessert as it's really bad, no mood already...

Bad reunion dinner, don't really understand why they wanna spend so much for these sucky dishes, last year was the same as well, I don't really wanna eat here again next year. T_T My other relatives at another tables seems to enjoy the meal as I can see that they finished every single dish which we didn't, if these dishes are considered as tasty to them, I am really speechless...

After the dinner we went back home and continue with our TV series until night, such a boring CNY eve... I slept quite early that night because I was too bored and feeling tired, after all I woke up so early on the day...

Next entry will be about my CNY days in Singapore, I suppose it will be more interesting although there isn't any special stuff, just look forward to it. =p

Happy Chinese New Year!

Note: This post is future-dated as I won't be able to online and update my blog during CNY. Enjoy!

Boo~

Chinese New Year is the biggest festive season for all Chinese, as it symbolizes the start of a brand new year of the lunar calendar. There's a lot of traditions and celebrations for this important festival which actually last for 15 days during the older days... Although we don't eat and play for 15 days right now but there's still so many events and celebrations around during Chinese New Year. XD

Just like the previous years, I will be going to Singapore to visit my grandfather and other relatives there to celebrate CNY, it sounds fun but it isn't actually... =( It's pretty hard to explain but it's not a pure vacation trip... I do hope there will be stuffs to do for the 4 days I am there, if not I am gonna bored to death.

Before I leave at 5 a.m. later, here's some random photos I took from shopping malls, various places with different decorations... Pretty nice to see. XD

A bridge, setup at Jusco Cheras Selatan, there's stalls selling CNY stuffs in front of the stage. It's a fake bridge so no people can walk on it lol...

Giant squared vase, a lot of 银柳 (I think it's typed this way and I don't know what they call this in English) at The Gardens, Mid Valley... Very nice, there are lots more around the stage, I guess there are some musical performance at certain times since there's quite a few traditional musical instruments on the stage.

Mid Valley Center Court stage... As usual, lots of people are gathering around the area, some performance or fashion show is going on I think, everyone just stand there and wait, really hard to actually get to the front or even take a nice photo lol.

Sunway Pyramid stage, pinkish... There are having some traditional dance performance when I was there but the place is full of people...

Saw this big flower from the top floor, pretty nice isn't it? There are a few more of these around the area, surrounding the stage. It's really nice when I looked at it from the top floor, I guess it will not be as nice if I were to look at it at the same floor since it's so big.

Lastly, I would like to wish everyone Happy Chinese New Year and all the best in the Year of Rat. =) Enjoy your holidays with all your friends and family, feel free to ask me out as well!

Sushi Groove @ Sunway Pyramid

Boo~

Before going off to Singapore for Chinese New Year, here's another sushi experience, this time at Sushi Groove in Sunway Pyramid. The shop is located opposite J Co. Donuts which is at the new wing, not very big shop but the entrnace is quite special which tickles my curiosity, last Saturday EdeNz and I decided to give it a try. XD

Sushi Groove's menu.

As the shop name sounds, this shop isn't traditional and typical like how a normal Japanese restaurant should look like... It's pretty dark inside the shop, something like a pub... The decorations are pretty modern and cool, looks young and casual... It has a few very long tables which is shared by all the customers, that's one of their groovy concept lol...

Long table...

Feel greeny?

This shop is full of green color stuffs, cup, sauce plate, chopsticks, menu... There isn't any Kaiten belt as well so we actually have to place an order by looking at the menu. Their menu is pretty cool as well, cool names for their dishes lol... Just that it doesn't have as much choices as some other Japanese restaurants out there.

Dynamite Ball, boom!

We started off with Dynamite Ball, it is ball shaped topped with fish roe and some sauce... Pretty special as I have never eaten anything similar before, it's actually quite crunchy, both the rice and the fish roe. It's good together with wasabi. XD

Tobiko.

Then we have our normal fish roe sushi, hehe... This is one of our favourite, won't miss this whenever we go for Japanese food. The fish roe here is not juicy, it's chruchy instead... weird right? Normally fish roe should be juicy... Anyway, it tastes good as well, won't lose to any ordinary fish roe sushi out there...

Dragon Delight, yum yum~

Miso soup, there's "la-la" inside...

Next, here comes our Dragon Delight bento together with miso soup. The bento does not contain any rice or normal dishes, it's just sushi and some appetizer, quite special. XD All of them tastes good, the salmon is really soft and juicy, melts in your mouth together with the rice... The feeling is so nice that I wish that they gave us more... The sushi roll topped with avacado is nice, though the taste is a bit normal compared to others while the sushi roll topped with egg and fish roe has a strong taste, mixed with salmon skin and unagi... A totallly different sensation! We enjoyed the bento, eating the sushi piece by piece, it's actually good to share as we get to eat more stuff and won't get full so easily. =p

Temaki...

We continue our exploration with salmon temaki, their salmon mixed with a sauce and then wrapped, the taste is good but it seems that the seaweed isn't that fresh as it's not crispy when we eat it.

Baby Dragon... Which is the head and which is the tail?

Before we leave, we ordered Baby Dragon Roll, it looks so nice on the menu and it's tempting me. =p Well, it's a mixed of a lot of stuff inside the roll, shrimps, unagi, salmon skin... A rich taste! I love this dish, nice to see and nice to eat haha... XD

We both were so full after eating everything, drank some tea to help digestion. =p A pretty special experience for me I would say, but the price here is a bit too expensive that I would rather eat at other high class Japanese restaurant than here, I would have got much more varieties to choose from. It would be a really nice place to hang out if only the price could reduce a little. =p

After lunch, we went shopping and walk around Pyramid and there's lots of stuff going on that day, I will talk about those in another post, probably after CNY since I won't be around until Saturday. =)

CNY Dinner - Tray Vegetables

Boo~

Chinese new year is here soon, one way people celebrate this wonderful festive season is by having dinner with friends and family. Last week I joined my colleagues for a CNY dinner at some Chinese restaurant in One Utama, forgotten the name lol... XD

Our table...

Before the actual meal, we had a "Lou Yee Sang" session which is also some traditional things to do which can bring good luck and prosperity in the new year. It's a kind of appetizer I guess, with those vege, salmon, crispy stuff... Not too sure of the ingredients but it tastes good, hehe...

Bring more good luck to us~

After that, here comes the main dish, we have only 1 dish that night which is called 盘菜, translated as "Tray Vegetables" which is actually a big pot that contains all kinds of meat, seafood and vegetables... For the dinner, we had abalone, prawn, sea cucumber, mushroom, vege, yam, taufu skin and lots more, together with the sauce served in a big clay pot on a stove.

Lots of nice stuff!

This is my first time hearing and seeing such a dish and also my first time tasting it, I would say it's pretty good. =) The taste is a bit strong if eaten neat, it goes really well with rice though. XD Some of my colleagues says the taste is a bit dull since the dish has only 1 taste for all the ingredients in the pot, haha... I guess this is personal preference, some like to have different tastes from various dishes and also more meat compared to vege and seafood... I love the abalone, the prawn, the sea cucumber, the yam... Hehe, taste really good. XD

Everyone is pretty full after eating, we didn't manage to finish up everything and the girl's table actually ate more than the guy's table. =p We also had fun chatting and listening to jokes, haha... Laugh a lot that night and had lots of fun. Everyone went back home after dinner which is quite surprising to me, I thought everyone will want to go have fun somewhere else, haha... Quite tired that night though, afterall it has been whole day I am out. Thank Yi Ying for fetching me to the dinner and back home though. =)
